WOOH NAYOUNG, ILLUSTRATOR

Woohnayoung is an illustrator who works particularly on digital drawing of character wearing Hanbok (Korean tradition clothing).

Her most famous works are <Fairy Tale> series. The characters in the series have been reinterpreted as if they were based in Korea,
and this work impressed lot of fans over the world. These <Fairy Tale> series led to many collaboration with Disney and Marvel, which
is very well-known to public nowadays.

​In 2019, received an award from Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea for her work in popularizing Hanbok.

Also in 2023, she was appointed as an honorary ambassador of Korean Cultural Heritage Administration.

 

Woohnayoung has been collaboration with various global comapanies such as Disney, Marvel, Jonnie Walker, Samsung, LG and others.

‘흑요석’이라는 필명으로 더 잘 알려진 일러스트레이터 우나영.

‘한복 입은 앨리스’를 비롯한 <한복입은 서양동화> 시리즈로 세계 네티즌의 주목을 받았으며,  2019년 한복을 해외에 알리며 한복 생활화에

힘쓴 공로를 인정받아 문화체육관광부 장관으로부터 '한복사랑 감사장'을 받았다.

또한 2019년엔 한-덴마크 수교 60주년을 기념하여  Viborg의 Animation Workshop의초청을 받아 공동작업과 전시를 진행했으며, 

2020년에는 서울 롯데호텔엔리조트 갤러리에서 흑요석 작업 컬렉션의 하이라이트 작품들만 모아 개인전을 열었다.

현재 디즈니, 마블, 조니워커, 삼성 등 국내외의 글로벌 기업과 협업하며 활발한 작품 활동을 하고 있다.
